Andrew was born in San Antonio, TX and raised in the Palm Springs area graduating from Palm Springs High School in 1989. After graduation Andrew enlisted in the US Army and served as a Light Infantryman with the 1^st Battalion 9^th Infantry Regiment “MANCHUS”.  After his enlistment was up Andrew returned home to pursue college and play football at College of the Desert. Upon completion of a marketing internship with General Motors, Andrew was introduced to the Communications world by his Uncle, Sam Ortega with ICG Telecom Group. Andrew worked his way up to become an Inside Plant Fiber Optic Engineer and after two years of designing and managing installs and the urging of his uncle, Andrew decided to become an Account Executive with one of the sales teams. Through this channel Andrew worked within the company to move up and into other divisions landing with ICG FOTI. After working for other companies in the communications industry Andrew decided to start his first company The I.V. Group Communications with his wife Holly in 2001. “We left the industry in 2010 and through a couple of detours and life events we came to understand the joy we received from helping our customers. With the talented group of people we are fortunate to be surrounded by, we decided to come back to our roots and have been blessed ever since”.

When not managing Solara Communications, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family and spearfishing. “The beach is my happy place”.
